Summer Day in the Life
Hello,
I was actually pretty good at taking everyday photos yesterday so I wanted to record this as I love looking back on how life was and getting reminders of sweet ideas that I had and challenges that I’m grateful are in the past! ๐
I started off the morning around 0530 with my quiet time. I do my lesson from The Bible Recap, read a couple of blogs I enjoy, and check the weather and calendar to make sure that our schedule for the day makes sense. Then I listen to the TBR lesson while putting away dishes so that my hands are busy and my mind can stay focused.
Next up is a 30 min workout. More upper body focused on this day with higher reps and lower weights.
Then we have yard patrol… I love our large dog but this is not exactly my favorite part of the day. Luckily he takes care of business on his walks so we bag it instantly and this is usually a short check.
Next up is taking care of my plant babies. I’m so happy that these tomatoes are taking off after I had to restart from seed.
Saying goodbye to Daddy for the day. (Jamie usually joins me for most of the morning as my early bird.)
Breakfast! Special K red berry with vanilla oatmilk is working for me right now. ๐
Then I write my blog post for the day. I really do use this as a daily creative outlet for myself, but it’s fun to think that there are others who might appreciate my ramblings. ๐
Next up breakfast sandwiches for the boys.
And Jamie started on a project! ๐ฅฐLaundry collection with my helper!
Daily chore… today it was bathrooms.
Playground time!
Then some swimming in our backyard pool!
Lunch was eggs and toast. Arnis had avocado toast and eggs white and Jamie had leftovers. After lunch it was time for a quick shower and changing out of my workout clothes. Our mornings are pretty much all outside and so I tend to change in the afternoon when temps force us to do more indoor activities.
Next was baking with the boys. I love how much they love to be in the kitchen!
Then hanging up laundry. We don’t use a drier and haven’t for years. Hanging everything takes about five minutes longer as we do a lot of small loads, but it’s become therapeutic for me.
Then a little afternoon tea and our baking creation.
And off to pick up Sulev. He takes the bus or his bike in most days, so it’s it’s over 90 degrees we go and pick him up.
Dinner was tacos! ๐ I didn’t do a grocery shop last week as we were traveling back from Vermont so meals this week are all over the place and we got takeout from El Vaquero which never disappoints.
Then bedtime routine for all.
And a little baking show! ๐ GBBS is our favorite rerun.
I also went over to my friend Lisa’s for some girl time while Sulev did story time and bedtime with the boys.
I got home just after 9 and went to bed pretty much immediately. Overall it was a fun day and fairly representative of our morning routine in the summer.
