What’s up Wednesday: June 25

 Hello!

Thank you to Shay from Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer from Sheaffer Told Me To for hosting this link party celebrating real and authentic life.

Here is a little of what I’ve been up to this past month. I’ll cover food, clothes, books, TV, and some of our activities. 🙂

Food

Pancakes on repeat! Seriously, nothing says summer more to me than slow mornings with a yummy hot breakfast.

We’ve also transitioned back to a flexitarian diet from vegetarian for health reasons that I’ll explain another day. 🙂

Clothes

Athlesure is my friend these days. Running shorts with a thin athletic shirt or a tennis skirt with a tank top are on repeat with some fun fancy outfits thrown in every once in a while.

I’ve decluttered my closet A LOT over the past few months and am almost at the 333 challenge number though I think I’m happy where I’ve landed.

I also am happy that I’ve committed that I will wear a dress or skirt every Sunday to church as I love wearing these but always get nervous at the last moment and opt out. No more of that, I’m wearing those pretty dresses and I love it!

Books

My favorites lately are the new Camilla Isley “The Roommate Experiment” and the new Ali Hazelwood “Problematic Summer Romance”.

I’ve also reread through some wonderful romcom books and am currently enjoying an influence from Shay from Mix and Match Mama on “ How to be Chic in Summer” by Fiona Ferris.

The romcoms are very much adult only and sweet happy stories with happy endings.

The Fiona Ferris is inspirational and fun and light reading, though I think I’ll keep my ivory skin and not worry about the fake tan she recommends. It would be fun to learn, but I want to also be happy with how my body naturally is before I experiment too much more.

 TV

It’s basically Survivor reruns on repeat over here with a brief intermission of “With Love, Meghan” by Meghan Sussex.

Survivor just makes me happy ever since my bestie, Lisa, got me hooked. “With Love, Meghan” feels like reading a blog. It’s light, it’s has some cute ideas, and it makes me relax. (Seriously the lavender towels idea has been amazing in this heat!!!)

Activities

This weeks is a quiet one. The heat wave has kept us closer to home enjoying our little backyard pool and lots of books, board games, and even the Bluey Nintendo Switch video game. Arnis and I have enjoyed our bonding time so much though we may venture out to a splash pad this morning and a little thrift store shopping for a couple of specific items that I want to start hunting for.

My parents own a beautiful stone house on lake Champlain, where they spend their summers, and so Jamie is up with them right now for the week and having the time of his life! 🥰

That’s all for today! I hope that you have a wonderful day! 🙂

💛Jessie
