Friday Favorites: June Week 3

 Hello!

It has been a really fun week for our family with a lot of outdoor time and summer fun! Jamie had his last week of zoo camp and LOVED it and Arnis and I got a lot of bonding time which of course involved a lot of popcorn and Nutella related snacks! 😂

1. Blueberry Picking.
I did a post about this earlier this week. It was so much fun and Arnis was the best helper! Blooms and Berries Farm is the best! 🥰

2. Blueberry pancakes.
Seriously how much more summery could it get for breakfast! 😋

3. Rhino Hornbill
Arnis’ new favorite animal. This one seems to like him in particular as it perks up and starts hopping over and playing as soon as Arnis shows up and talks to it! 

4. Snacks… as advertised! 😂

5. Brother Love
Jamie had a rough moment earlier this week when something scared him. Arnis decided to take charge of the situation and said “Jamie don’t be scared, I’ll hold your hand.” I’ll just be over here crying at how sweet they are.

6. Time with dad

Grant had the day off for Juneteenth and so we spent some quality time with Arnis after dropping Jamie at camp and then went to our favorite Black owned, woman owned coffee shop, Cream and Sugar! I love supporting local businesses and the atmosphere there is 10/10! 🥰
I sadly didn’t get any pictures at the coffee shop, but if you’re in Cincinnati near Xavier, they’re the best coffee shop around!

    How lovely to go blueberry picking and make pancakes with them. Yum!

 Hello! This has been quite the week, but there is so much to be grateful for. It’s going to get a bit deep and frankly I need to not process a lot for a little while and just focus on gratitude so that I can deal with the grief in my own way and time. Let’s Look: How we work on our marriage

 Hello, I’m joining the party again this month, a big thank you to Shay from Mix and Match Mama  and Erika from A Little Bit of Everything  for setting this up and inviting us to share as well! 🥰 Grant and I are in a season of life that usually has our two little guys along for the ride. That means that we don’t have regular dinner dates or weekends away, but we find time that works in our schedule and season. 💛 1. Wednesday and Thursday Work Commute We are a one car family as we live in a city where parking isn’t always the easiest and we love the fact that it reduces our carbon impact and has the added bonus of allowing us to spend more time together. Grant takes public transportation to work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, but on Wednesday and Thursday he works from a different location that doesn’t have an obvious route so I drive him between the kids drop off and heading over to the zoo. Let’s Look: Our Wellness Routines

 Hello, I’m linking up again this month to join  Shay from  Mix and Match Mama  and Erika from  A Little Bit of Everything ’s link party for “Let’s Look”. I love that these topics are a glimpse into our normal, everyday life and it’ll be so much fun to look back years from now and remember what we were up to! My wellness routine these days is a lot less singularly focused on sprints or gym time and a lot more of a holistic approach so here we go!  Mind 1. I do a lesson of Duolingo Spanish every evening as part of my quiet time to keep this skill up. I’ve always loved learning languages and even tested in the Army as having a strong aptitude for this, this feels right to me. (I already speak French and my Arabic is still there albeit a little rusty, but if I want to ever do sea turtle conservation work I feel like Spanish might be the way to go. 🙂) 2.
