What’s up Wednesday March 2025
Hello!
We are very much in spring break mode at my Aunt and Uncle’s in Florida and loving every minute (minus the pollen that kicked our butts coming through the Carolina’s 😂).
Thank you so much to Shay from Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer from Sheaffer Told Me To for hosting a link party celebrating real and authentic life.
What I’m eating.
Lol, right now we’re in vacation mode with lots of, somewhat, healthy snacks and all the birthday cakes for my wonderful husband, Grant, and my little man Arnis. This is a record year for dinosaur birthday cakes for us and we’ve finally capped it at three Dino cakes and one amazing strawberry white chocolate that still makes me hungry thinking about it!
What I’m wearing.
I’m switching my wardrobe even more to a lot of just very classic outfits of plain black t-shirts and tank tops or white button downs along with my hiking-style clothes for work. I really like this simple elegant summer Parisian style and am getting pops of color into accessories like my phone case.
I need to get some more pictures as right now I’ve just got a couple of my road trip outfits which were just comfy hiking pants and a black shirt.
I also really love my watch/bracelet combo as I finally switched away from my Apple Watch to unplug a little more. I have a really hard time not looking every time I get a notification and so this has been good for me personally though I totally get it’s not for everyone.
What I’m celebrating.
My amazing husband, Grant, and my, now five year old?!???, Arnis. Grant and I have been together for 16 years now and married 13 in May. I am so happy to share life with him and grateful for a partner that is happy to spend six hours on a road trip dreaming about running a wildlife sanctuary, volunteering to rescue sea turtles, and even trying out “van life” one day. 🥰😉My little Arnis is my best cuddle bug, my chirpy happy socialite, and lover of all things dinosaur and avocado. I am so grateful that God chose me to be his mom and am cherishing these wonderful moments as he grows.
What I’m reading.
Not as much as I thought I might this week as the boys are VERY excited to be someplace warm. Though I have all the Camilla Isley beach reads loaded on my kindle and just waiting for a quiet moment! 🥰
What I’m watching.
Bluey… the boys surprisingly didn’t care about shows as much in the car for the very long road trip from Cincinnati to Florida, but when they did it was Bluey and I love this kids show. It’s social stories for being in the moment as an adult while entertaining your child and I’m here for it!
What I’m loving.
Watching an alligator swim by.
All the wildlife! We’ve seen so many tropical species here in just the one full day from alligators to Galapagos Tortoises to Sandhill Cranes (seriously convinced that they’re pterodactyls).
What I’m debating.
Since I’ve stopped wearing my Apple Watch I’m debating on an oura ring so that I can have more accurate data and not blank every time the doctors ask about my sleep or stress or other factors of life. I’m a very data-driven person and so I’m wondering if this would help to get the stats without constant notifications or if this would make me obsess. Clearly still more pros and cons charts to write.
What I’m thankful for.
Family and friends-who-are family. We have been so fortunate to turn this road trip and spring break into a time of catching up and seeing so many people that we’ve had to put off hugging in person for years now.
This includes my amazing Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Chief (what the boys call him) for hosting and loving on us for a week! It has made my heart so full and I’m so grateful.
That’s all for today, now for the rest of my quiet time and back to spring break adventures. I can’t wait to share some more pictures later this week and next of all the fun!
💛Jess
