Friday Favorites: March Week 3

Thanks for stopping by! It’s a bit of a chilly week, but there is always something to be thankful for and to have as a favorite! 🙂

Thank you to Andrea from Momfessionals and Erika from A Little Bit of Everything for hosting this sweet link party every Friday! 💛 This has really helped me on my gratitude goal and also on taking pictures of all these wonderful things to remember and love!


1.  My Pixie Cut!!!
I’ve always loved a pixie and have had this haircut multiple times but it just didn’t work because of the minimal access to places to get it cut or because I had to wear a hat with my uniform. I decided that I was just going to go for it this week and it feels so good. I love that it’s so much easier to style without feeling frazzled. I also love that it is something about my body that I had control over. I feel like my eyes pop with this cut and my spouse thinks it looks wonderful. I need to get better at pictures because this really doesn’t do it justice, but like I said… I love it and that’s what matters.
2. Cuddles with my under-the-weather guy
Jamie wasn’t feeling good yesterday and so we kept him home from school and he just snuggled with me and napped all day. While I hate it when he’s sick, I love the snuggling.
3. Arnis’s parent teacher conferences
I was so proud of Arnis this week at parent teacher conferences. He’s doing really well and, while we’re still working on emotional regulation and taking turns answering questions #preschoollife, he’s making friends and a huge helper in class! 🥰
4. Cleaning the closet
I shared earlier this week our before and after for organizing our closet and doing our cold to warm swap out for clothes. Needless to say as soon as we did this change out the weather dropped 30 degrees. 🙄 But the closet looks great!
5. Lemon Cruffins
It’s a croissant in the shape of a muffin filled with lemon pastry cream… need I say more. They’re from North and South bakery in Covington but you can find them at the Hyde park farmers market. My absolute favorite treat every spring/summer!
6. Sunrise at Trader Joe’s
This was last Friday (after my Friday post since I write these as part of my morning routine as my version of journaling). It was so pretty that I just needed to take a picture to remind myself that beauty in nature can be found everywhere as long as we take the moment to look.

 Hello! This has been quite the week, but there is so much to be grateful for. It’s going to get a bit deep and frankly I need to not process a lot for a little while and just focus on gratitude so that I can deal with the grief in my own way and time. Let’s Look: How we work on our marriage

 Hello, I’m joining the party again this month, a big thank you to Shay from Mix and Match Mama  and Erika from A Little Bit of Everything  for setting this up and inviting us to share as well! 🥰 Grant and I are in a season of life that usually has our two little guys along for the ride. That means that we don’t have regular dinner dates or weekends away, but we find time that works in our schedule and season. 💛 1. Wednesday and Thursday Work Commute We are a one car family as we live in a city where parking isn’t always the easiest and we love the fact that it reduces our carbon impact and has the added bonus of allowing us to spend more time together. Grant takes public transportation to work Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, but on Wednesday and Thursday he works from a different location that doesn’t have an obvious route so I drive him between the kids drop off and heading over to the zoo. Let’s Look: Our Wellness Routines

 Hello, I’m linking up again this month to join  Shay from  Mix and Match Mama  and Erika from  A Little Bit of Everything ’s link party for “Let’s Look”. I love that these topics are a glimpse into our normal, everyday life and it’ll be so much fun to look back years from now and remember what we were up to! My wellness routine these days is a lot less singularly focused on sprints or gym time and a lot more of a holistic approach so here we go!  Mind 1. I do a lesson of Duolingo Spanish every evening as part of my quiet time to keep this skill up. I’ve always loved learning languages and even tested in the Army as having a strong aptitude for this, this feels right to me. (I already speak French and my Arabic is still there albeit a little rusty, but if I want to ever do sea turtle conservation work I feel like Spanish might be the way to go. 🙂) 2.
