What’s up Wednesday
Hello,
Thank you to Shay from Mix and Match Mama and Schaefer from Schaefer Told Me To for hosting a link party celebrating real and authentic life.
Here is a little of clothes, food, entertainment, and aspirations for this month. I was in the hospital last week for a major health event which will reflect a lot in what I’m writing, but I don’t intend to go into details here. If you’re curious you can read about it from friday’s post that I’ve updated a little as I’ve started to process everything.
What I’m wearing…
Lol… (I honestly do love this dark green color for a loose sweatshirt though)
Currently I’m living in loose sweats, I’d probably be doing this regardless of circumstances as it’s been pretty chilly in the Midwest. Typically my attire for work is cargo pants and warm quarter zips and then I change after work into workout attire to play with the boys and build some muscle.
I also highly recommend Thinx reusable period underwear if you’re looking for something in the genre, especially post surgical or even post partum.
What I’m eating…
Right now I’m sticking to fairly bland probiotic yogurt, the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast), and then some wonderful meals from our wonderful friends from church. Moving around for more than a few minutes and lifting are just not options for me at the moment. I did walk for about ten minutes yesterday to get some sunshine at a very flat garden area in a nearby park. After bench break number one I got passed by a gentleman using his cane. He joked that it was the first time that he was faster than someone. 💛
Last night it was black bean tacos on homemade tortillas from my sweet friend Sarah and her family. I’m so grateful as this has taken a lot of pressure off from myself as I recently described that I’m less useful than a walrus trying to peel a banana (no idea where that analogy came from) and my spouse.
What I’m watching…
I’ve been binge watching a couple of shows and so Younger and Love is Blind have been on the list. They’re entertaining, but I’m not sure that I’ll watch these much after these slow weeks as there are a lot of angsty moments which typically are not my preference.
What I’m reading…
Anything Lisa Kleypas. She writes historical romance novels and this has been engaging enough to give me a mental break while not so engaging that my mind has to focus. 10/10 vacation reads if you need something that is multi series for the plane/beach/pool over spring break!
What I’m looking forward to…
Spending time snuggling my guys, taking walks in the warming and dewy scented spring air, and getting to make my kids’ year over our spring break plans hopefully.
I’m just really enjoying the quiet happiness and calm in the mornings right now as well as forcing my mind out of negative rabbit holes, knowing that God has a beautiful plan, and thinking about all of the wonderful opportunities that our family has to look forward to over the coming weeks.
We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful life and I want to focus on that!
Have a wonderful day!
💛Jess
