Survivor 48 episode 1 reaction
Hello,
I have grown to absolutely love Survivor and my kids are really into it as well which makes for a very fun time snuggling, cheering on the different teams, and listening to Jamie ask questions about Mr. Jeff.
Survivor 48 premiered last night and I’m really excited and motivated by this season. Spoilers ahead…
Players who stood out to me are:
Joe: I am so excited by Joe as a contestant and completely cheering for him as my number one choice. I know the nature of the game probably means that he’ll get voted out relatively early or I will end up being disappointed because he’ll have to sacrifice an honest game to win. However, I’m really hoping that he doesn’t and he somehow makes it to the end playing an honest game. That would be so motivating and, until proven otherwise, I’m on his side!
Eva: oh my goodness, how much good can I say about Eva! She seems to be an authentic person, a hard worker, and her story is changing my heart! She is a person with autism who is voluntarily playing a social game largely based on reading social cues and deceit. What an inspiration and I can’t wait for my kids to see her as an absolute role model! Get it girl and crush this game!!! ๐๐๐
Sai: I want to like her so much because she’s clearly so genuine and dedicated and just a wonderful product of a lot of very strong women. However, she is playing a tiny bit too hard and showing absolutely no grace for anyone else which I think will bite her.
Mary: I am going to wait and see how her story plays out. She could either turn into an agent of chaos, a mastermind, a little of both? We will see but she’s clearly on the bottom after day one and her and Sai will have to battle it out which gives the rest of their team a reprieve from worrying about any attention.
Mitch: absolute idol! Mitch has been very open that he has a speech impediment and is a hard core survivor fan. I am so excited for this because I really believe that he is going to kick butt and take names as a truly valuable member of his tribe and a positive role model in society when we genuinely need them. Seeing people in powerful positions mock or try to cut down those who have a social difference or disability makes me so much more determined to overshadow that negativity with positive people like Mitch.
Challenges:
The marooning challenge was classic and I’m so happy that they didn’t do some type of fight challenge. I despise those and the unnecessary injury risk that they bring. This was a classic obstacle course and I am here for it!
The follow on was also just a good classic challenge and I loved how Kyle, when faced with adversity, just put it aside and was a good person.
The immunity challenge was another classic survivor teamwork obstacle course and Lagi, again, destroyed. I imagine that a tribe swap might happen sooner than usual this season because Lagi seems to dominate.
Vula went to tribal council and Stephanie, after a bit of an argument with Sai, was voted out first.
It looks like next episode might mean Sai is out for revenge against Mary, who put Sai’s name down for playing too openly at the start. Again, just makes for easy game play for all the guys at Vula. ๐คท♀️
Overall this episode just gave me so much hope, motivation, distraction, and l, frankly, faith in humanity!!!
