Meat free Monday: Homemade Oatmilk

 Hello,

We’re back from our weekend adventure joining Grant for an Army weekend in Columbus. It was wonderful to get a little more time as a family on the weekend, though I’m definitely enjoying my bed and I think Grant is too.

This morning we’re going to go over our homemade oat milk. We switched to non-dairy a year and a half ago when Leo was going through some complications and it was recommended we have non-dairy options for him. We started with vanilla almond milk, but when I realized we could make vanilla oat milk ourselves we went to that and never looked back.

We make a pitcher about every other day, sometimes every day when the kids are home, and the only real difference is that you definitely have to mix or shake before use.

Ingredients:

8 cups water

1.5 cups raw oats

.25 cup honey

2 tsp vanilla

Add everything into a blender in order, blend for 20-30 seconds and then strain into a pitcher. Use the left over ground oats for oatmeal or they can be added to cookies or pancakes. 😋

That’s all for today!

💛Jess
