Wild Kratts Book Review

 Hello!

It’s snow day number 4 this week, the kids got to school yesterday which was wonderful and they both really enjoyed seeing all their friends and showing off the skills we’ve worked on over the break to their teachers. One of those big skills was our reading and sounding out words!

The boys received several books from their favorite brother duo for Christmas and the Wild Kratts books do not disappoint!

Jamie and I have started reading a story out of this or the other compilation book before bed every night since Christmas and now he’s in the rhythm and insisting on it which I LOVE! The books are perfect for his comprehension and reading abilities. I still read the majority but there are a lot of headline words in bold at the top of the page that he practices spelling and sounding out, mostly species names, and he is doing wonderfully. It’s also really fun to point out what Martin and Chris are doing on the pages and they use their taglines in the story which is great for sight reading for Jamie as well.

Outside of that I’m learning new things that I didn’t know like there are 38 types of wild cats ranging from large to small, the Bengal Tiger is the biggest, and that Jamie knows pretty much all of this already! 🥰

Arnis loves these books as well, we just read more in the afternoon for him and we do different books at night that Grant typically reads for him.

That’s all for today! Onto another day at the house and hopefully getting some grocery shopping done before this snow storm starts back up.

As much as we’re enjoying and nervous about more snow, we’re also keenly aware of everyone affected by the fires. We’re staying in touch with Grant’s side of the family in the LA area and they’re all safe but it’s a mess and absolutely heartbreaking at the level of loss and destruction from these wildfires. I wish there were more we could do.

💛 Jessie
