Friday Favorites: January Week 4

I’m going to switch my weekly highlights in favor of joining with the “Friday Favorites” post from Erika’s alittlebitofeverythingblog.com weekly post and link-up.

Here are some of my favorite things from this week:

Cold Weather Day Activities: restaurant and blanket fort and of course… Poop Bingo 🤪




It dropped down earlier this week here to -3 with windchill getting as low as -12 so that was a blast from our days in Alaska. Schools closed due to this on Wednesday and so we had a morning of creative play with the boys and they built a “cubby” with all their rooms and a restaurant with full delivery service. Poop Bingo has just become a staple for our family. 🤪

Tea 


One of my goals for the year is to simplify and “use it up” so I’ve started going through our tea cupboard and just drinking a cup or two of tea every afternoon and it’s been very relaxing and let’s me feel like I’m accomplishing a goal.

Zoo Workout



I help out at the zoo while the boys are in school to keep my data analytics skills sharp while still having the needed flexibility to respond to things for them and, of course, because who wouldn’t want to work at a zoo?!? On Thursday I ended a project about 30 minutes early, put on my weight vest and power walked through the zoo seeing a few friends and listening to a podcast. Normally I work out at home in the afternoons, but I liked this change and will probably do it again.

Zac’s Cups


These have been life savers. We got them a couple of years ago and they have been one of the most used items in our house. Our boys drink carnation in the morning to get in some more vitamins and minerals as a recommendation from Leo’s hematologist. They like having it as they wake up but I hate having the worry of getting liquid all over the upstairs of our house. Enter these cups. They don’t spill easily, aren’t a sippy cup, and are easy to wash. I’m sure we’ll switch eventually but, for now, it’s working.

    It sounds like a lovely snow day. Poop Bingo sounds like fun.
    Helping out at the zoo sounds fantastic, how great you could have a walk around it.

      Thank you! Poop Bingo was such an amazing gift from a wonderful friend and of course the boys LOVE it. 10/10 recommend and it should give us more to talk about on hikes or when they’re going through the zoo with me! Have a wonderful weekend!!!

    What a great snow day! I actually have loved the time inside this week, a much slower pace. Poop bingo sounds like so much fun! I hope you have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites: February week 3

 Hello! This has been quite the week, but there is so much to be grateful for. It’s going to get a bit deep and frankly I need to not process a lot for a little while and just focus on gratitude so that I can deal with the grief in my own way and time. Thank you to Andrea from  Momfessionals  and Erika from  A Little Bit of Everything  for hosting this sweet link party every Friday! 💛 This has really helped me on my gratitude goal and also on taking pictures of all these wonderful things to remember and love! Guerrera documentary  Some of the ladies that I trained with for our respective combat deployments participated in a documentary that came out last Saturday. Friday Favorites: February week 1

 Hello, It felt like this week was sprinting and I blinked and it’s already Friday. It’s going to be a really fun day with a Valentine’s Day dance for the boys at lunch today and I get to be one of the chaperones! My kids are little so I think we’re still in the stage of wanting mom around and I probably won’t do this when they get older so I’m going to soak in all the delighted hugs and excitement while we’re in this phase of parenting. 🥰 Here are some other favorites from this week though. Thank you to Andrea and Erika from  Momfessionals and Alittlebitofeverythingblog  for creating this “link party” 🥰 1. This pill device! If you have a child who has to take medicine regularly, finding a travel device that can store, cut, and crush pills is a game changer and I LOVE this  one.  I’ve bought it twice now so I carry one with me so we don’t miss a dose for him and I left one at the school as it’s the best all-in-one that I’ve found. 10/10 best gadget of the yea...
