Thanksgiving Holiday 2024

 Good morning!

This year we decided to make things easy on ourselves and we will NOT travel for the holidays. After years and getting close to decades of Grant and I always heading out of town we are DONE. I couldn’t be happier with this decision because we have been able to prioritize spending time with our family and relaxing and resting which I hope means that we will come out of the holiday rejuvenated and ready. It also means that we’re not spending nearly as much on travel when we do go and our timing will be on slightly less busy times so that it’s not an overwhelming sensory experience.

Thanks for attending my Ted Talk I suppose…

Anyway it was a beautiful thanksgiving and the boys and I had a lot of fun during the first three days just trying to find a good routine… news flash, swimming is their favorite but turning impossible for me to do alone with them so we might have to move that to an “after work activity” once Grant is off for the day so that I have an extra set of adult hands.

On thanksgiving day we were able to hike at a local park and even brought Teddy, still working on his reactivity training but it’s pretty deserted in this part of the park on a rainey thanksgiving morning so it worked out. Next it was getting dressed up and heading to my parents house for an early dinner. My parents live close by for about half the year and since my dad had a pretty serious health issue over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been spending quite a bit of time with them in and out of the hospital. Last it was time to head home and, as Grant called it, fire a Christmas shotgun at the house. We only planned on doing the tree but that quickly turned into the whole house. It was also fun to give the boys two presents from us on Thanksgiving. They got a fancy outfit each Thanksgiving morning so that they can wear it the whole season and then they each got a pair of Christmas pajamas to start the season so that they can wear them for the next month rather than once or twice and grow out of them by next year.

Overall it was super fun and relaxing and our calls with family were very uplifting and encouraging as well!

That’s all for today! Time for more Pentatonix Christmas!!! ๐Ÿฅฐ
