Halloween decorations!

 Hello!

Last night/early morning was a long one. I absolutely love doing volunteer work with the zoo to help preserve these beautiful and amazing species, though the midnight to 4am shift can be tough. It was particularly fun this morning because my mother slept over to train up on this work and so it was fun having girl time at a strange hour. πŸ™‚

Our current idea for all decorations is that we invest in fun and quality items but only get one to two things a year and slowly build up. This way we are budget friendly and also going for quality that stands the rest of time and doesn’t fill the landfills every year, but still have a lot of fun with celebrating the seasons and holidays. πŸ’›

Halloween is, of course, the current season and our theme for our overall decor is Disney/haunted mansion with some just fun and cute accents inside. The decoration we got for this year was a series of banners that look like the stretching walls in the entry elevator and I LOVE it!!!

The only other thing we purchased this year was a stuffed jackolantern for the mantle that Leo picked out as his “spooky pumpkin” on the day that Jamie went back to school but he still had two days before preschool started. It was so much fun spending that quality time with him and he was hugging to so hard that it was impossible to say no.

That’s all for today, I can’t wait to break out my good camera and hopefully get some good costume pictures tonight. It’s very windy, we’re talking 45 mph gusts, so there’s a solid chance that we’ll just call it and do a candy scavenger hunt instead with a scooby doo Halloween movie.

Fingers crossed but we’ll see, it’ll all work out for the best I’m sure! 🧑
