Me: House Tour

Can I say I love our house, it is my absolute dream size, dream color, and just totally fills my cottagecore heart. That being said, it's 107 years old and she needs some love... frequently, so even though the photos that I'll put up showcase what I'm most proud of, it doesn't mean that I don't constantly have a project or two going or that I don't get nervous that something could pop up with her that would give me a minor heartattack.

Here's our kitchen, I fell in love with the cottage feel of it from the start though we did remove the microwave and uppers because I kept hitting my head due to how much they stuck out and as a bonus it let in a lot of light. We also have the original built in that we use as a pantry which is beautiful. We are wallpapering that area as a bit of an accent wall and may one day install floating shelves that anchor to the ceiling, but the wallpaper will get done when I have patience and an extra set of hands again... probably in a week or two, and the shelves are a 10 year maybe as I will never again install those without a professional. #DIYfail

Our dining room is truly where we eat most meals and where I do a lot of my 'at home computer chores' with bills/blog/overnight remote animal watches/etc. I love that we spend so much time here and our table was a thrift store find that Grant and I both adore.

Our living room and playroom is split by the couch and, while we do have a TV we've hidden it in a cabinet permanently because frankly I don't want to see it when we're not using it and I think having it put away means that the boys see their leggos before the TV... let's face it they prefer leggos anyway because who doesn't like making a mess that will give mommy an eye twitch right before we need to leave for the day. I know it's not important, but I love having everything in its place.

Grant's office is also our guest area and more of a variety of furniture and such. If we do have another child this will become a nursery and he will move down to the basement where I have a spot set aside for him, but for now it works for when he works from home on friday mornings.

The boys' room I love because they still let me decorate and it's so stinkin' cute. We've tried separate rooms for them, but they just sleep better when they're in the same room so we'll support that all day.

Our room is just pure light. It makes me happy. It feels bright. And I can change out the quilt to make it seasonal. We have a small ensuite and closet, and the boys have their own bathroom.

The house itself is about 1600sqft and we have a cute backyard set up with dining, lounge, and play along with all my plants. I've recently decided against large live plants in the house because it was attracting ants with all this rain and that's a hard pass for me.

The biggest thing for me right now is just reminding myself that I don't need to do a ton of projects, our house is beautiful just how it is and it doesn't need to be on HGTV.

I love it.
