Good News: Texas Renewable Energy
Hello and Happy Friday-Eve!
Some good news in conservation today courtesy of my wonderful spouse! Grant does a lot of work with energy and especially in trying to see where renewables can take over. Due to this interest, he is constantly checking on national and even global updates on renewables and brought me this nugget.
Texas is now the leader in the country on renewable energy production and has been for about a year. By percent it’s not the largest, but over 30% and rising of its energy use is from renewables like solar and wind, meaning that this is feasible for all states and this is definitely where we will continue to trend given market interest.
What this means for us is that we need to continue to be that squeaky wheel and race to 100%. Fill out those annoying market surveys, write those products comments calling out sustainable products or hoping for more sustainability and transparency to avoid green washing!
We’ve got this and Texas is leading the way! (Seriously let’s make them have to work for that spot!!!)
