Churched Up Pizza

 Happy Earth Day!!!


One of our favorite vegetarian and easy weeknight options is to “church up” a store brand freezer cheese pizza (could easily grab a vegan one as well) by adding red onion, green pepper, dates, feta, olives, balsamic glaze, essentially anything you can think of.



The phrase "Churched Up" I got from an episode of Queer Eye: More Than A Makeover where one of the folks daughters described it as adding some extra nice things like you do to your outfit when going to church. I love this phrase, and am a huge fan of the show! 😀

I really like peppers because it makes the house smell amazing and it’s practically zero effort so it’s great for a weeknight meal when you are tapped out. It also makes for a fun activity for the kids by letting them add their own toppings without having any ‘no touches’ in the prep outside of the oven.


On other news we had a wonderful birthday weekend for Jamie and did a lot of gardening this weekend which will be detailed another time when my arms aren’t about to fall off from using the hedge trimmers for hours. #hellosexyforearms

Good News Thursday: Netflix Kids shows featuring conservation and ecological responsibility

 Good Morning! Both of my kids have about one to two hours of scheduled 'rest' time every day. This is my chance to do some chores that just aren't as safe or feasible with little helpers or frankly take a break myself so that I can remain patient and centered for them.  During this time, they can nap or look through books, we love I Spy, especially with letters or ocean animals, but sometimes when they're a little too excited and really need to be in separate rooms, I'll let Jamie watch a TV show while I'm trying to get Leo to sleep. (Leo just needs a little more than the average bear and while we've weaned off of 14-16 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period, he still needs minimum of 12 to be his happy self.) I've been pleasantly surprised to find that there are a lot of ecologically responsible kids shows on netflix and so here's a list of our favorites! 5.
